2022 OMFLL Plans

The Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League (OMFLL) is excited to announce its schedule of events for the upcoming spring season. A number of thrilling changes are currently in the works, including a new league executive and a season-launch to celebrate the full return of minor field lacrosse in Ontario.

The Toronto Beaches Jammer Classic Field Lacrosse Tournament will kick off the first complete OMFLL season in two years during the weekend of April 9/10 at Cherry Beach Sports Fields in Toronto. In May 2008, Jamieson “Jammer” Kuhlmann, a talented Toronto Beaches U17 lacrosse player, lost his life playing the sport he loved. After two straight postponements in 2020 and 2021, the Jammer classic, an annual lacrosse tournament hosted by the Toronto Beaches Lacrosse Club and named in memory of Jamieson, will return for its 12th season of operation to play host to OLA teams participating in the U13, U15 and U17 divisions.

Immediately following the weekend of the Jammer, the OMFLL will host its 2022 Season Face-Off weekend on April 16/17 for all divisions, which marks the start of five consecutive weekends of regular season play before culminating in the Ontario Field Lacrosse Championships on Victoria Day Weekend (May 21-23), tentatively scheduled to be held in Brampton and featuring all OMFLL spring age divisions (U9 through U17) competing for Ontario Provincial Championship titles. With over 25 participating clubs and teams at all divisions of play, the pathway to excellence for field lacrosse players will be on full display throughout the spring at each of these weekend’s events.

Following the OMFLL’s Annual General Meeting in January, the league welcomed a number of new faces to its 2022 Executive. The league will be supported throughout the season by Jennifer Price (OMFLL Secretary, Toronto Beaches), Chris Hughes (OMFLL Treasurer, Guelph), Wendy Bennett-Costante (OMFLL Registrar, Brampton), as well as Paul Falkiner (Orangeville), Jason Fancett (Brampton) and Cameron Hill (Six Nations) who will serve as Division Directors. The OMFLL does have a small number of volunteer positions still available; for those who are interested in joining this team, please connect with Jennifer (jennifer.price@omfll.com) to express your interest.
