2023 Fall Ball Championship

The commencement of the OMFLL Fall Ball League is just around the corner on Saturday October 14th in Orangeville.  This Fall Ball season has been a year like no other and we are excited to wrap up our season on the Championship Day with our athletes, families and volunteers.  Check out more information on the Championship Day below.

Championship Divisions

U9: A (6 teams), B, (6 teams), & C (6 teams)
U11: A (4 teams) & B (4 teams)
U13: A (2 teams) &  (4 teams)
U15: A (3 teams) & B (4 teams)
U17: 5 teams

Team placement will be determined after the Week 4 games have completed on September 30th and will be based upon team rankings using the MyLaxRankings algorithm (not OMFLL.com Standings).

Championship schedule

All Championship games will be played on Saturday October 14th including Round Robin and Championship games, between the hours of 9am and 9pm.  The Fall Ball Championship Schedule has been released onto our website and based upon the team rankings following Week 4 games and using the MyLaxRankings algorithm (not OMFLL.com Standings).

CHAMPIONSHIP LOCATION

All Championship games will be played in Orangeville at Orangeville District Secondary School and Princess Elizabeth Public School Fields (across from Tony Rose Arena).  Parking will be restricted within the Tony Rose Parking Lot, but accessible behind Tony Rose and multiple public parking locations surrounding the fields.

RULES OF PLAY

  • FIL rules will be in effect for all games unless otherwise directed and approved by the OMFLL and OLA.
  • All players’ sticks must abide by the FIL specifications. Full wooden sticks are not to be allowed.
  • U13 and under are allowed a 34” stick in length as a minimum length. 40” for everyone above U13.
  • Time Outs: 2 per game, taken at any time in the game.
  • Tied games will stand in series and round robin games.
  • In the event of a tie between two teams on points, the OLA Tie-Breaker Formula will apply to determine standings.
  • Tied games in Championship will result in overtime with sudden victory, played using 4 minute stop time periods.

U19 Modified

  • Modified Fall Ball Championship Round Robin Game Times: 15 minute half periods, 5 minute half time  (last 2 minutes of 2nd half stop time)
  • Fall Championship Elimination Games: full standard game times

U11 Modified

  • Modified Fall Ball Championship Round Robin Game Times: 20 minute half periods, 5 minute half time  (last 2 minutes of 2nd half stop time)
  • Fall Championship Elimination Games: full standard game times

U13-A Modified

  • Modified Fall Ball Championship Series Game Times: 20 minute half periods, 5 minute half time (last 2 minutes of 2nd half stop time)
  • Modified Fall Ball Championship Elimination Tie Game: if U13-A Championship Series is tied in points at the end of second game, a 5 minute break, followed by a full 10 minute mini-game with no stop time or time outs.  If 10 minute mini-game ends in tie game, teams will participate in a Braveheart.

U13-B & U15 Modified

  • Modified Fall Ball Championship Round Robin Game Times: 20 minute half periods, 5 minute half time (last 2 minutes of 2nd half stop time)
  • Fall Championship Elimination Games: full standard game times

U17 Modified

  • Modified Round Robin Game Times: 20 minute half periods, 5 minute half time (last 2 minutes of 2nd half stop time)
  • Fall Championship Game: modified 20 minute half periods.
