2023 OMFLL Update

The Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse Spring Season is only 15 weeks away and we are busy planning for the best season yet!

Player registration will be opening over the next couple weeks with your local lacrosse clubs.  If your lacrosse club does not offer minor field lacrosse, players are eligible to play for the next closest club. Please reach out to your lacrosse club as a first step or complete the OLA Where Do I Play information form.

The Toronto Beaches Jammer Classic Field Lacrosse Tournament is planned for April 8/9 at Cherry Beach Sports Fields in Toronto. In May 2008, Jamieson “Jammer” Kuhlmann, a talented Toronto Beaches U17 lacrosse player, lost his life playing the sport he loved. The Jammer classic, an annual lacrosse tournament hosted by the Toronto Beaches Lacrosse Club and named in memory of Jamieson, will return for its 13th season of operation to play host to OLA teams participating in the U13, U15 and U17 divisions.

Immediately following the weekend of the Jammer, the OMFLL will host its 2023 Season Face-Off weekend on April 15/16 for all divisions, which marks the start of five consecutive weekends of regular season play. Divisions U9-U13 will continue to play on Saturdays and the U15-U17 divisions on Sundays.  Regular season games will be scheduled at various Ontario locations, soon to be announced. The U9 division will compete in the Ontario Field Lacrosse Championships on May 13/14, followed by divisions U11-U17 competing on Victoria Day Weekend May 20-22, both are tentatively scheduled for Brampton.

Following the OMFLL Annual General Meeting in November, the league welcomed a number of new faces to its 2023 Executive. The league will be supported throughout the season by Kristin Bellantine (OMFLL Commissioner, Newmarket), Chris Hughes (OMFLL Financial Director, Guelph), Nathan Joyes (OMFLL Secretary, Centre Wellington), as well as Paul Falkiner (U11/U13 Director, Orangeville), Jason Fancett (U15/U17 Director, Brampton), Michelle Falkiner (Fall Ball Director, Orangeville). We would also like to congratulate long-standing OMFLL Executive Member, Jennifer Price in her new role of VP Field, OLA. The OMFLL does have a volunteer positions available; for those who are interested in joining this team, please connect with Kristin (kristin.ballentine@omfll.com) to express your interest.
